Lead Production Scenic

Purpose

The Lead Production Scenic is responsible for general production and provides leadership to the General Production Scenics on a per-job basis.

Reports To: Shop Supervisor, Project Managers

Supervises: General Production Scenic on a per-job basis

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Adhere to and support Evergreen Creative’s code of conduct and general performance standards.

  • Adhere to all company safety standards.

    • Obtain, understand, and practice Evergreen’s safety policies and procedures.

    • Report all unsafe production practices to Production Supervisor or Production Manager immediately.

  • Provide (and be accountable for) production technique information when requested for estimates.

  • Be responsible for understanding the design and budget of the projects you lead.

  • Provide direction to General Production Scenics and monitor compliance to project specifications.

    • Perform within budget parameters (material use, man hours, timelines)

    • Charge hours worked accurately to individual projects

  • Monitor and work to correct any counterproductive fabrication techniques

    • Using materials that are not specified to the project

    • Production problems

    • Not adhering to the quality finish scale (i.e., 1-10)

  • Provide and apply creative problem-solving techniques for the production of projects, organization of the shop, and all safety procedures

  • Actively participate in achieving the customer’s production satisfaction by monitoring quality, costs, and timelines

Skills & Experience

  • Advanced technical and creative experience in scenic construction

  • Ability to see the big picture and handle details

  • Practice time management


Qualities & Other Considerations

  • Be able to operate various power equipment

  • Be comfortable with heights

  • Willingness to work with paints, dust, solvents, and noise

  • Cannot be color blind

  • Good communication skills

  • Be able to work under pressure and on tight deadlines

  • Leadership/supervisory skills

  • May be required to travel

  • Overtime may be required
